Vic Stocker is a senior at Appalachian State University, studying Industrial Design. She has received many honors throughout her college career, such as winning the student accessory category in the 2023 Innovation + Design Competition, and receiving the American Home Furnishings scholarship in 2023. Most recently, she won the 2023 Student Pinnacle Award. Vic seeks to expand her skills through a furniture design internship in summer 2024.
StatementMy design process is driven by individuality and experimentation. So often in life we confine ourselves to boxes; however, I disagree that we all fit one box. Like fashion, furniture and interior design can be used to reflect one’s personality. I push myself to learn from new materials and processes in order to find unique, playful concepts that break these boundaries and emphasize originality.
